This electroacoustic piece examines the dynamic and responsive relationship between the performer and their instrument. During each performance, this piece looks to equalize this relationship and change assumptions by “challenging” the performer. A cue based max patch takes sounds from a microphone implanted within the piano and live processes it to a set a speakers. This creates a third voice that opposes and counteracts that performer with unexpected and transformed sounds and textures.
