The Da Capo Ensemble premier of ‘me obruit’ this week in New York City

Max Chung's new composition 'me obruit' was performed in New York City this week by the amazing Da Capo Ensemble. This composition, me obruit literally means being overwhelmed or crushed by a larger emotional force and explores the sensation of being submerged underwater, tracing the long, slow process of losing energy and slipping into a dreamlike realm. It evokes the fading of breath and the gradual transition into a memory state where time becomes warped and fluid, blurring the boundary between the unconscious and conscious state. Thank you to Curtis Macomber (violin), Chris Gross (cello), Roberta Michel (flute), and Marianne Gythfeldt (clarinet) of Da Capo for their insightful performance.
