footnote

This piece looks at the idea of being a footnote, being forgotten. This is not just a phenomenon that applies to the future, but also the present. Sometimes such marginalized voices never do disappear, but rather, they are covered by all the other noise in context. Nowadays, more than ever, the noise that once suppressed these voices is starting to subside, and we can begin to hear pieces of tales and memories. Such forgotten voices are what I want to emphasize—the sound of the bass drum repeating like a heartbeat. Whether the bass drum is purposely masked (the percussionist plays lines over it) or by pure accident (with the decay of the effects), the sound is still ever-present.
